Can’t decide if your hair is oily?
Maybe it is a bit of both –
oily roots and dry ends. Just like facial skin having oily and dry zones
is known as ‘Combination Skin’, hair that exhibits such mixed behavior
is known as ‘Combination
Hair’.
Which problem do you target when you have two completely
different types of hair on your head? You end up compromising with only
one hair issue at a time.
For people with combination hair, they might use two shampoos to target the two problems – Light,
clarifying shampoos and conditioners targeted at oily roots cause hair
ends to be drier than it already is. Conversely, nourishing shampoos and
conditioners for dry hair may be too rich for the scalp, resulting in
excessive build-up at the roots, giving you that uncomfortable, oily
feeling by mid-day. Moreover, depending on the thoroughness of the scalp
massage during shampooing, such build-up may not be thoroughly washed
off, further causing the scalp to feel oily in a shorter time.
How now brown cow?
Introducing the best of both worlds . . .
Essential Light Finish Volumizing (yellow) and Deep Cleansing Care (blue) that brings the best of both worlds to you! With the optimum
combination of Smart Cuticle Care and Sebum Cleansing Technology, you
can now achieve moisturized hair ends while maintaining a refreshed
breathable scalp!
Previously, I mentioned that I have oily roots and normal ends and I tried the yellow variant (you can read more here) and I'm so thankful for it! My roots is no longer as oily as before.
If you've been struggling to find the right hair products for your combination hair, try this!
I've been using shampoos and conditioners that are formulated for normal hair but the formula is kinda heavy for my roots. My roots will usually get oily by mid day. Ever since I switched to the new Essential, I don't encounter such hair woes anymore!
Both yellow & blue variants are neither too drying nor oily. The consistency and texture is just right. I love how my scalp feels cleansed and how bouncy my hair is.
Conditioner on the left &shampoo on the right!
Conditioner on the left and shampoo on the right!
Both variants smell equally good!
Totally lovin' the smell, it's like I can pour it all over my body for the fragrance.
For a limited time only, Essential is also giving out a massage shampoo
brush with purchase of shampoo and conditioner. A massage shampoo brush
is a common haircare tool in Japan and is used by the majority of
Japanese women to help remove dirt and sebum more effectively from the
scalp. The massaging action on the scalp also helps improve blood
circulation and promote relaxation. Now you can have a scalp massage
without going to the salon!
Here's how you should store the brush.
How you should hold the brush.
How you should use the brush to massage your scalp.
Keep in mind that you shouldn't use the brush to massage your scalp in circular motion.
Essential Shampoo 750ml + Conditioner 750ml with free Massage Shampoo Brush in hot pink or mint green is available at all leading supermarkets for $19.60.
Grab yours now and say no to combination hair.
